b'What happens during cataract surgery?The procedure only takes between 15-30 minutes and youll be back home the same day.First, well put a couple of drops on to your eye. One will dilate your pupil, and the other is a local anaesthetic so you wont feel anything. Your surgeon will then make a tiny incision in youreye to remove your cloudy lens and replace it withan artificial intraocular lens. Our theatre team will be there to make sure youre feeling completely comfortable the whole way through. If youre feeling nervous, one of the team can hold your hand during your surgery.
